To point to nearby locations that match search terms entered on the device keyboard or captured by voice recognition
Why does the app need the fine location permission?
To tell where you are so it can find out what is nearby
To look-up magnetic declination so that True North can be calculated for your current position
What information does the app collect automatically?
GPS Location to send to geonames to obtain language codes and HERE to obtain lists of nearby places
GPS location also used to look-up magnetic declination using the android.hardware.GeomagneticField API
Magnetometer and accelerometer readings and gyroscope readings (if available and selected) to calculate bearings for pointers
What information does the app collect from the user?

Your GPS location is sent anonymously to geonames.org which returns the local language codes for the country corresponding to your current position
Your GPS location and your search term are sent anonymously to HERE Search which returns a list of nearby places to point to
Your search term is sent anonymously to AWS Comprehend to distinguish nouns
Does the app show ads or use analytics
It shows ads and uses analytics
